University Of California Los Angeles Rate Agreement

On May 3, 2017, the University of California and the United States Department of Health and Human Services reached an agreement on new institutions and an administrative cost rate (M&A) for UCLA. This agreement sets the rates for installations and administrative costs for the period from 1 July 2016 to 30 June 2019. It replaces the agreement of 27 April 2011. The agreement was revised on October 12, 2018 to formally approve the Composite Charitable Council “CBR”. This revision did not make any changes to R&L rates. In some cases where the total amount of the proposed budget was limited by the funding agency, so that the project could not be carried out with a salary calculated as provided above, a rate may be used for the replacement unit of the faculty. A replacement rate is the rate that the department would have to pay for a replacement professor. The current replacement rate is $932 per unit. However, a higher unit rate can be used if the budget allows it. In such cases, the university shares the costs up to the unpaid indirect costs if the university is authorized to do so. . . .
